  The Bel Foundation supports 9 new projects  
 
 
 

At the second meeting in 2010 of the Board of Directors held on 28 October, the Bel Foundation decided to support 8 new projects managed by non-profit groups in France, Mexico, Senegal, Burkina Faso, Mali and Bolivia.

ADDE – Burkina Faso

The ADDE (Défense des Droits de l’Enfant) is a non-profit association that supports children’s rights through the creation of literacy centers and by promoting children’s awareness of issues such as health and environmental protection.
Sponsored project: assistance with the creation of 4 plant nurseries in 4 schools to raise the children’s awareness of environmental issues.

CIELO – Bolivia

The CIELO Association is dedicated to helping fight poverty in developing countries, sustaining the process of human development within economically disadvantaged populations and supporting those who are locally involved in development projects
Sponsored project: promotion of wholesome and balanced eating habits in their three centers for young children by providing them with a daily lunch.

Ednica is a Mexican non-profit association devoted to children and young street workers to help them plan for a different lifestyle.

La Voie de la Lune – France

La Voie de la Lune is a non-profit association for the education and wellbeing of all members of the community, which supports families in difficulty by providing academic support such as remedial reading. Sponsored project: “Tell me what you eat” is a program to enhance awareness about nutrition by offering culinary workshops to develop practical skills and monthly meetings on balanced nutrition intended for parents.

Mame Mélanie – Senegal

The mission of the Mame Mélanie association is to provide aid to school children in Fatik, in particular by participating in the reconstruction and renovation of the school.
Sponsored project: the Mame Coudou nutrition project provides the opportunity to give the children check-ups to prevent cases of malnutrition while at the same time providing them with a balanced nutritious snack.

Mission Possible – France

Mission Possible aims to prevent the risks of social marginalization of youth in difficulty in the 19th and 20th districts of Paris.
Sponsored project: setting up a health and nutrition workshop that involves both learning the theory from a nutritionist, and acquiring the practical skills of making balanced meals.

Neerwaya – Burkina Faso

Neerwaya works to develop self-help in the communities of the Koulpelogo province by teaching them sustainable agriculture and increasing awareness of health issues.
Sponsored project: construction of 6 school gardens in 2 municipalities to improve the composition of children’s meals and to mitigate nutritional deficits.

The mission of the Pesinet non-profit association is to have a durable impact on the reduction of infant and child mortality in the sub-Saharan countries of Africa by establishing a medical and health service.
Sponsored project: establishment of a locally based health service, reinforcing its nutrition program to fight against malnutrition, and to promote awareness of wholesome eating habits in the family environment.

SOS SAHEL – Burkina Faso

SOS SAHEL is a non-profit association based on international solidarity that improves living conditions in seven countries of the Sahel by fighting poverty and hunger.
Sponsored project: setting up of 20 school gardens for 5,400 school children and promoting awareness of more balanced nutrition amongst their mothers.
