CIELO (International Cooperation for a Local Balance) – Bolivia |
Created in 1995, the CIELO Association is dedicated to helping fight poverty in developing countries, sustaining the process of human development within economically disadvantaged populations and supporting those who are locally involved in development projects. The association currently operates in 18 cities and towns in 10 countries, particularly through educational activities involving games. The ten countries are Benin, Burkina Faso, Bolivia, Colombia, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Ecuador, Lebanon, Peru and Senegal.
 Donation from Bel's Foundation
The Bel Foundation has agreed to provide financial support to CIELO’s neighborhood toy libraries by creating two educational games for young children that deal with nutrition and good eating habits.
These two educational games were designed by the toy librarian at the toy library in El Alto, Bolivia, and 30 exemplars of each were made for distribution throughout all of CIELO’s Spanish-speaking toy libraries. They will also be translated into French for distribution throughout the CIELO Association’s toy libraries in French-speaking Africa (Benin, Burkina Faso, Ivory Coast, Democratic Republic of Congo and Senegal). The entire project will be carried out during the second half of 2011 at the latest.
The Bel Foundation wishes to contribute up to € 600 for this project.
