Pesinet - Mali |

In Bamako, Mali, the Pesinet association has set up a program that combines prevention, detection and early treatment of childhood diseases for low-income populations. The goal is to reduce child mortality caused by complications of benign diseases in Sub-Saharan Africa. This simple and innovative service is based on regular monitoring of key health data collected by workers from families and sent to the local doctor via mobile technologies and the Internet. It allows affordable access to nearby health care and monitoring through an innovative system of information transfer. Currently, 570 children aged 0-5 years are being helped by this program.
Donation from Bel's Foundation
Pesinet wants to strengthen its program’s focus on nutritional monitoring and management. This involves improving the detection and early treatment of malnutrition in children and referring them to the appropriate care units within partner health centers. For this, new technology features for collecting and processing the data needed by health workers will be developed, and dedicated training sessions will be held to boost workers’ skills in these areas. There is also a plan to educate the families monitored about better eating habits through informational meetings and culinary workshops.
The Bel Foundation wished to cover the entire cost of Pesinet’s plan to strengthen its nutritional monitoring and is providing €21,400 in support.
