2023
Founded in 2004, Génération Mada (Zazakely Sambatra) is an association whose aim is to support the economic, social and cultural initiatives of Madagascar’s young people, who make up nearly 60% of the population.
Since it was founded, the association has helped to develop the Ketsa Centre, located in the commune 15 km from the capital, and is responsible for its management. Every year, the centre supports more than 200 children and their families, providing them with individual support on a range of issues such as health and nutrition, from their schooling through to their integration into the world of work. The centre pays for the young people’s school fees and provides two balanced meals a day for the children. The centre’s canteen is supplied mainly by crops grown in its educational vegetable garden. Since it was founded, over 510,000 meals have been served at the Ketsa Centre.
The Bel Foundation’s support will enable the Ketsa school canteen to be further strengthened through two main initiatives: developing human skills and increasing yields on the farms that supply the canteen.
What are the project’s expected results?
This project will help to improve the diet of 181 pupils.
