Founded in 2004, Savoir Ivoire is a nonprofit organisation whose mission is to promote education in Côte d’Ivoire. By setting up practical initiatives in around ten partner schools, the association supports over 4,000 pupils every year. The association has supported numerous projects to improve school infrastructure, canteens and gardens, with the aim of creating the best possible learning conditions for children. The association also collects materials such as books, computers and teaching aids to promote quality education. 

To date, Savoir Ivoire supports 11 schools and has contributed to the completion of 45 projects. 

In 2022, the Bel Foundation’s support enabled the construction of a school canteen for two primary schools in Côte d’Ivoire. In 2023, the Foundation is once again supporting the association to help the Kong 2 school canteen become self-sufficient thanks to completely local sourcing. 

What are the project’s expected results? 

• Construct and equip a storage building, a well and a chicken coop 
• Purchase agricultural tools (wheelbarrows, pickaxes, watering cans) 
• Strengthen production capacity and supply the school canteen with local produce, and market the produce of a local cooperative 
• Provide children with a healthy, balanced diet 

A total of nearly 400 pupils will be able to have a meal every day at the school group.
