Sur le Chemin de l’Ecole is a French association whose mission is to promote access to education in around ten countries. The association works in collaboration with local communities to encourage the ownership and sustainability of the actions undertaken. 

The Bel Foundation’s support in 2023 will enable the association to set up educational gardens in various schools in five countries, with the aim of making children’s diets safer and raising their awareness of the need for better nutrition. 

The project’s expected results are as follows: 

• Establish five enclosed vegetable gardens, equipped by pupils and teachers, to supply the school canteens and diversify the meals distributed thanks to the harvests. Part of the harvest is sold to benefit local communities 
• Raise children’s awareness of nutrition, the environment and biodiversity: children learn how to manage a vegetable garden and the basics of good nutrition 

A total of 550 pupils aged 8 to 17 will have access to better nutrition at school. The 550 pupils are spread over five schools in five countries: 

· Cameroon (FONDAF): 70 children

· Kenya (Nossim Academy): 120 children 

· Madagascar (EDS): 130 children

· Bangladesh (Babupur Boarding School): 80 children.

· India (Coalfield Children Classes): 150 children
